MySQL Error server PID file could not is found

The following MySQL error occurred while installing 5.1.30 under centos5.2

The default MySQL error log is under/usr/local/mysql/data more ****.err has the following information

Workaround:

As long as the/etc/my.cnf inside the skip federated comment out.
