[New Features of ArcGIS 10.2] New Features of ArcGIS online (Part 1)

Overview

In July, ArcGIS online released many updates. Main Content: New website design, enhanced web plotting, data analysis, application creation, and organization management.

The updates are summarized as follows:

• Map viewer:New analysis tools, get direction function, add path layer, enhance image, enhance search prompt, embedded map search range limitation function, new A-Z symbol;
• Web applications:Improve the webviewer of cityengine, add a maptour template, add a swipe template, and disable swipe.
  Tool template;
• ArcGIS application:Enhance ESRI maps for office and upgrade ArcGIS for Windows Phone apps;
• ArcGIS layer data and tools:Basemap upgrades, adds geographic codes, adds road network information data, and updates ESRI data and map data layers;
• Organization Management:Added the enterprise login function, enhanced status monitoring page, and new security options for using standard SQL queries only;
• Usability and UI improvement:Improved the ease of use of ArcGIS online, new page design, new site pages and home pages;
• Others:Personal data page adjustment.

The following is a detailed description.

New Analysis Tool of map viewer

Now you can use the new online analysis tool in the map viewer: Intra-range summary, nearby summary, creating travel time areas, enriching layers, finding the nearest point, extracting data, and integrating boundaries, merge layers. In addition, the pop-up help of all analysis tools now supports all languages in ArcGIS online. The new analysis tool is currently available in ArcGIS
Online has been officially launched. Each time you perform an analysis or storage service, you must pay a quota (related links ). The new features and descriptions are shown in the table below.

Get direction function

The "Get direction" option is added to the pop-up window of the map element. The obtained direction is the specific address of the element. (Related links)

Add a path layer to a layer

You can save the navigation path as a layer and analyze the layer. (Related links)

Enhanced Image Display

The display mode of the image service layer is improved. You can configure a property table, create a filter, and display or hide legends. The configuration dialog box is displayed. (Related links)

Enhanced search tips

When you search for an address or location, the map viewer displays the relatively optimal results of all results and provides a drop-down list to select other candidate results. (Related links)

Restrict the search range to the current range of the embedded Map

When you embed a map, you can set the search range of the location query to a fixed area. (Related links)

The new A-Z symbol

You can use a new set of A-Z symbols in a layer. The symbol contains three colors: blue, green, and red. (Related links)
