Use Telnet on Windows

Telnet is a remote login tool The Telnet protocol is a member of the TCP/IP protocol

Because Win7 does not install the Telnet service by default, it is not prompted for internal or external commands

1. Install Telnet Service

Control Panel turn Windows services on or off select Telnet Server, telnet client click OK

2. Start the Telnet service

Run services.msc to find Telnet

Right-click Property selected as manual or auto-determined

Right-start may be reported dependent service not started

To view dependent services:

Start a dependent service first

Then start the Telnet service successfully

3. Use

To test whether a host port is available:

Telnet IP Address port number

Or

Start/min Telnet IP Address port number

Test host is unobstructed:

Ping IP Address
