Zfs:failed with error 6 troubleshooting under FreeBSD

Environment:

After re-compiling the kernel, reboot after installation, display: Zfs:failed with error 6, then the mountroot> hint.
This is a rare ZFS error code, typically 2 or 19 majority.

Tracking:

Look at the last line and still display a string of GUID numbers, so the suspicion is still on the GPT.
After adding two lines to the loader.conf, it still doesn't work:

kern.geom.label.gptid.enable= "0"
kern.geom.label.disk_ident.enable= "0"

The reason for adding these two lines is that the ADAP3 is the ZFS target when installing, and if not, the disk is displayed as a GUID format, causing the ZFS pool to find no disk, resulting in error 2.

The following line shows the ZFS debugging information, but because the USB keyboard is not available, you can only see the last line, still in the GUID format.
vfs.zfs.debug= "1"
Boot_pause= "YES"

Finally re-filtered the kernel configuration, found that three items were commented out:

Options Geom_part_gpt # GUID Partition Tables.
#options Geom_raid # Soft RAID functionality.
Options Geom_label # provides labelization

These three items are closely related to the GUIDs, which are suspected to be associated with them, so first add the following two lines to loader.conf and restart:
Geom_label_load= "YES"
Geom_part_gpt_load= "YES"

It turned out to be a smooth start!

Reason:

Geom related options are disabled in the kernel, causing the GEOM system to not function properly.


Solve:
Remove the note and recompile the kernel:
Options Geom_part_gpt # GUID Partition Tables.
#options Geom_raid # Soft RAID functionality.
Options Geom_label # provides labelization
