Often use Word office friends may encounter such or such a problem, some of these problems, always do not have their solution, now will be more common problems and solutions to inform, so as to encourage.

1. How to prevent Word from automatically numbering

When we use numbers or bullets, many paragraphs are automatically numbered or bulleted, and sometimes we don't want to. This occurs because the user opens the automatic numbered list or auto bulleted list feature. To cancel the extra bullets that have been generated, just click on the "Ctrl+z" key combination. Users can remove the automatic list feature for numbers or bullets by following these steps:

(1) Click AutoCorrect on the Format menu.

(2) Select the AutoFormat tab in the AutoCorrect dialog box that appears. Cancel the Automatically numbered list or automatic bulleted list option in the automatically apply as you type option group.

  2. How to make each chapter in the document have their own header and footer

(1) Place the cursor between sections that use a different header and footer.

(2) Click the "separator" command on the Insert menu. Word pops up the Separator dialog box.

(3) Select the type of section break you want in the section break option group.

(4) Repeat steps 1~3, so that there are section breaks between the different chapters.

(5) After inserting a section break, you can specify different header and footer for different chapters.

 3. How to see the lines drawn in Word

You can't see the lines drawn when you use the drawing features that Word provides. This behavior occurs because the line width of the word drawing function is set to 0. Then just change the corresponding line width.

What about the graphics in 4.Word files turning into Big red forks?

Inserting a picture in Word can sometimes not be displayed, and a bold red fork appears on its behalf. There's nothing worse than that. When this happens, sometimes the picture is corrupted, can no longer be recovered, and sometimes it is recoverable. Here are some of the reasons why the Red Fork appears:

(1) Insufficient resources or memory space.

(2) Some pictures are downloaded from the Internet JPEG or GIF format, contains some very complex formatting options, such as animation, sound, and so on, and Word can only recognize some simple format.

(3) The temporary folder for the system setup is invalid.

(4) The number of files that the system allows to open is too small.

Here are some steps to reduce or avoid the appearance of a red fork in a word picture:

(1) Increase the memory, preferably not less than 64MB.

(2) Change the formatting of the inserted picture over.

(3) Remove the Quick Save feature from the document by clicking Options on the Tools menu, selecting the Save tab in the dialog box that appears, and clearing the Quick Save feature in the Save Options group.

(4) It is best to use the "paste" command to insert a picture, if the "link" command to insert a picture, when the position of the picture changes, doc file will be affected.

(5) The document volume cannot be too large.

(6) Increase the number of temporary files that can be opened by the system. This is because when Word opens the document, the graphics in the humanities file are opened as a temporary file that is placed under the system's default temp directory. The number of temporary files that the system can open is limited, depending on the value of the statement files in the Config.sys, which the vast majority of users simply do not notice, and use the default values of the system settings directly.

(7) For pictures that contain complex formats, it's a good idea to remove the complex formatting that Word doesn't recognize before you put word in. For GIF files, dump the GIF 89A format to CIS GIF87 or 87A. For files in JPEG format, remove the redraw feature and save it in a simpler format.
