GCC4.3.0 Kernel Vulnerability exposure

Source: Internet
Author: User
GCC4.3.0 exposes kernel vulnerabilities-general Linux technology-Linux programming and kernel information. For details, refer to the following section. Soon after the release of GCC 4.3.0, a kernel-related vulnerability was discovered, which may cause security concerns.

This issue is related to the direction flag of the X86 processor. The direction flag is not cleared before the string operation.

When the program is compiled with the new version of GCC 4.3.0 and runs on the old kernel, the problem may occur. It has nothing to do with the compiler used to compile the kernel.
