with format → display format, open the Display Formatting task pane, where we can see the formatting of the fonts, paragraphs, tables, sections, and so on in the document, and compare the differences between the font and paragraph formatting between the two parts.
One, display format
Select the content you want to view, and the text in that section will appear in the selected text box. The various formats for the paragraph in which it is located appear in the format of selected text box, and if no object is selected (shown as "sample text" in the selected text box), the font formatting that will be inserted into the text is displayed. And the paragraph formatting of the paragraph that contains the insertion point.
In the Format selected text box, click + and-, to stretch or hide the specific display of the column, and click the blue, underlined font to open its Formatting dialog box for formatting changes.
Second, comparative format
First confirm that the compare to other selection check box is not selected, and then follow these steps:
1. Select the first comparison item, such as paragraph 1, whose text appears in the selected text box.
2. Select the Compare to other selection check box, and a new box appears under the Selected text box.
3. Select the second comparison item, such as paragraph 2, whose text will appear in the second selected text box.
4. See the comparison results of the two items in the format differences list below.
In the Show Formatting task pane, there are two more options:
1. Distinguish the style source: You can display the base style for fonts, paragraphs, and so on.
2. Show all formatting marks: Controls the display of formatting marks, such as a blank box, tab stop, page break, and so on, with the same functionality as the show/Hide edit tag button on the Standard toolbar.
