The latest official Gnomeshell extension (version 3.2.0) supports the latest version, and WebUpd8 provides GNOME3-PPA support for Ubuntu11.10OneiricOcelot. The latest official Gnome shell extension (version 3.2.0) supports the latest version, WebUpd8 provides GNOME3-PPA support for Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot. It also provides a stable GNOME3.2 package, which is not stored in the official Ubuntu 11.10.

GNOME shell extension is a formal GNOME package that provides additional features for Gnome-shell.

To install the GNOME shell extension in ubuntu 11.10, first add the source:

Sudo add-apt-repository ppa: webupd8team/gnome3

Sudo apt-get update

Alternative tab Extension: Use the classic ALT + TAB to install the command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-alternate-tab

Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-user-theme gnome-tweak-tool

Workspace Indicator Extension: displays the current Workspace and allows you to switch between workspaces.

Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-workspace-indicator

Applications Menu Extension: added an old top Menu GNOME Shell bar.

Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-apps-menu

Removable Drive Menu Extension: added a Removable Drive "GNOME Shell bar at the top of the Menu. Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-drive-menu

SystemMonitor Extension: GNOME-shell message tray, which adds two images to show RAM and CPU usage. Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-system-monitor

Places Status Indicator Extension: adds a top bar in the old menu style.

Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-places-menu

Dock Extension: displays a dock-style Task Switch. Unfortunately, this extension has not been tested.

Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-dock

Native Window Placement Extension: Use thumbnail display.

Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-native-window-placement

Xrandroid Indicator (Monitor Status Indicator) Extension: added a system Status menu for rotating the Monitor. Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-xrandroid-indicator

Auto Move Windows Extension: this extension can be used to obtain some applications from a specific workspace. Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-auto-move-windows

Gajim Extension: Gajim is integrated into GNOME Shell. Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-gajim

Windows Navigator Extension: When you press and hold the ALT key, a number is assigned to each window (displayed in the upper left corner), and then you can switch to the window by number.

Installation command:

Sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-windows-navigator

You can use the following command to install all the extensions:

Once the installation is complete, reload GNOME-shell (press Alt + F2, enter "R", and log on again ), then, you can use the GNOME Tweak Tool to conveniently enable/disable extensions or switch between GNOME-shell themes.
