Problems encountered: The host can be connected to the Internet (using a proxy), VMware is set to bridge mode network. The virtual machine can be ping on the host, and the host can be ping in the virtual machine, but the Internet is always not connected in the virtual machine.
Thanks to Liu Yang's Classmate's blog, " in the bridge mode, your host is how to configure, then your virtual machine operating system must also do the corresponding configuration ," So, in the virtual machine also with the host as well as set up a proxy to the Internet.

Vmplayer Network Configuration theory bridge mode (bridged)
Bridging this argument is not just for network communication, it is also used for programming design patterns. Its intention is: to change the relationship between the two characters to a coupling relationship, so that the two can plague yourself until their own independent changes. The same explanation applies to the way the VM network is linked. The following is a map of the network model in bridging mode for easy understanding.
In the above network model diagram, we can see that VMnet0 as a virtual switch, and both the physical computer and the virtual operating system through the virtual network card side to the virtual switch, so as to achieve mutual communication. Therefore, you can fully understand that in bridge mode, virtual machines and physical machines are in the same network segment. Therefore, all computers in this segment can communicate with the virtual machine. In the actual environment, there are many ways to use the bridge to connect directly to the network, and some people use the bridge to find only the host and the virtual machine between the communication, the virtual machine can not access the external network, this situation is generally because you network connection is to do a certain configuration. For example: You are dial-up internet, then, in the virtual machine can only dial to connect to the network, you connect the router, the host does not have to configure the network, then the virtual machine at this time no need to configure and can connect to the network normally. Said so much, that is to tell you: in the bridge mode, your host is how to configure, then your virtual machine operating system must be configured accordingly . Because the relevant configuration is only related to your own computer, it is not possible to give a specific configuration plan. Please refer to your computer network configuration for your own reference.
Host mode (HOST-ONLY)
What is host mode? Host-only as the name implies, this technology provides network visits between hosts and virtual machines, rather than the technology of virtual machines accessing the Internet. (Answer the reference to search the encyclopedia). The following is the network model diagram in host mode.
From the above network model diagram, it is clear that the virtual machine and host can communicate (through VMnet1 direct communication), but unable to communicate with the outside world. Say so, we have a way to let the virtual machine to connect to the network: network share (also can be through the proxy server way, this skipped). Here's how to do it (the following configuration is based on Win 7, similar to other Windows system operations):
- Find the network card that you have connected to, my computer is "wireless network connection 2"
- Click "Right click", select "Properties", select "Share" tab
- Select "Allow other network users to pass ..." and select the corresponding "Home network connection" item
- In general, you can implement virtual machine networking as set out above. But because the network connection is different, may appear still cannot network, at this time, you can try to manually set up the virtual network card (host IP segment IP, host the same DNS).
Network Address Translation mode (NAT)
Careful with the "host mode network model Diagram", you should understand the "host mode" under why not access to the extranet. For Nat mode, the above figure has been explained enough, this time to say a little bit less. In NAT mode, the equivalent of re-based on the original network and a layer of sub-network, because we can specify the IP address for the virtual machine, thereby fixing the IP.
