At work, there will inevitably be some projects with tight time requirements, and the Development Director always tries to improve the efficiency of employees by forcing the time limit. On the surface, there may be no problems, however, if you carefully compare the vulnerabilities, we can still see the vulnerabilities!

The idea in this regard comes from the book peopleware, and I happen to have a very short schedule. So, I paid special attention to my mood fluctuations and the "efficiency" of my work. Here I will make a record and hope to give you some inspiration:

The leader assigns a task with an estimated time of 5 days, which can be shortened to 3 days under the "strong" of the leader. Don't feel a little nervous, because 3 days is indeed a little important, if you do not work overtime, it will not end. However, there were a lot of things in the previous two days, and I had no clue about myself. In addition, with the approaching invisible pressure of the deadline, I felt even more depressed. The tasks planned in the previous two days were not completed as quickly as possible, as a result, the workload on the third day has increased, and there is no way to do it. I can only send other work on hand, and I am trying my best to deal with this task. The first two hours of the first day of the year seem to have a better effect, but it takes a little longer, I feel that my head is getting more and more wooden, and I am getting more and more mechanical, and my mood is under great pressure ...... In the end, I had to work late at night, but I had to submit a job, but I was exhausted ......

There is no doubt that it took another two days to fix the problem. It was a break, but the process was depressing. Later, the leaders said they intentionally put pressure on me, so that the work can be completed smoothly ......

The above is a rough story. Let's take a look at what is worth scrutiny:

(1) My 5-day plan should include handling special events, and it should basically eliminate overtime.

(2) in the face of three days of pressure from the leadership, the increasing pressure may be able to release a proper amount by slightly increasing the number of work tasks in the previous two days, instead, they cannot be evenly distributed as originally planned.

(3) when dealing with other burst tasks, we should try our best to adopt the segmented processing method. For more urgent tasks, we can arrange for handling in the previous time period, the less urgent part can be delayed a little. The reason for segmentation is to reasonably disperse the oppression we have produced after a long time thinking about a job, so as to improve our work efficiency.

(4) In the third day, our mood was quite depressing. In fact, our work efficiency was less than 30%. Serious fatigue limited us to do mechanical work with limited capacity, this is why overtime is often inefficient. Of course, it can be improved on the premise of reasonably arranging the time period. However, if this is the case, we should leave a path for ourselves. When we re-plan, we should clarify our priorities and arrange them according to importance, from high to low, if the time is really not allowed, we must ensure the quality of the key part, because in many cases, what we deliver cannot be the final draft, it is only a small stage, so we focus on the focus of each stage, and it may be a rational way to distribute unnecessary tasks to appropriate stages for processing.

(5) In other words, the intention of the leaders to exert pressure is actually a good starting point, but some efficiency factors may not be taken into account, but we must take them into consideration! This is also one of the reasons for the last approach. We are the workers on the assembly line. Our tasks are endless, but our personal conditions are changing, how to ensure continuous work is more valuable than rushing to catch one or two tasks, but this process is generally not smooth. You need to balance and work in constant work to find your own train of thought.

(6) to address the fifth point, we must say that in our work, we must be good at summing up Experience and Lessons. No one is doing well, and our work is no exception, but at work, we can't expect that our leaders are "leaders". Therefore, there are many things that need to be discovered and summarized by ourselves in practice. What the leaders have given us is limited, but our own production experience will be limitless, as long as you want.
