How does tl-wdr5620 use as a wireless switch?

Introduction to Wireless Switch applications

In the network application, the original router can only provide wired Internet. In order to meet the mobile phone, notebook and other terminal equipment wireless access to the Internet, the need to increase the wireless network, tl-wdr5620 as a wireless switch to meet the needs of the use.

Set steps

1. connecting computers and routers

Connect the settings computer to the LAN port of the router to ensure that the computer automatically obtains the IP address and DNS server address. As follows:

Note: to avoid IP addresses or DHCP server conflicts, the router is temporarily not connected to the front-end network.

2. Login Admin Interface

Open the computer's browser, empty the address bar and enter the router's management address tplogin.cn (or 192.168.1.1), in the pop-up Settings management password interface, set the 6~15 bit management password (if already set, please enter the password directly), click "OK", login router management interface. 4. Modify Wireless Settings

Click on the "Wireless Settings" below the main page. The following figure:

Set the wireless name and wireless password for the 2.4G and 5G networks respectively, and click "Save". The following figure:

Set the wireless signal and password for the 5G band in the same way.

Note: Wireless name does not recommend the setting of Chinese or special characters, wireless password at least 8 digits, in order to ensure network security, strong password to ensure the strength.

5. shut down the DHCP Server

6. Modify LAN Port IP address

Click "LAN Port Settings" to change to a different IP address from the same network segment as the main router. The following figure:

After saving, the computer will retrieve the IP address and click OK:

7. connect lines by topology map

The router is configured as a wireless switch, and the router is connected to the front-end network.

Connection method: Connect the LAN port of the router (that is, the 1~4 interface) to the LAN port (or LAN switch) of the front-end router.

Now that the router is used as a wireless switch (wireless AP), the wireless terminal can connect to the wireless network on the router.

Q1 : After setting, can I log on Tp-link ID ?

A: When used as a switch (wireless AP), the Tp-link ID cannot be logged in (its logon condition is successful on the WAN Port network).
