How fast wireless routers use PPPoE to dial the Internet

If your home broadband line is the telephone line home, please use network cable to connect the router's WAN port and ADSL modem LAN port, the computer network card connection router any LAN port (numbered 1/2/3/4, etc.); if it is the network cable home, direct network cable to the router WAN. Then set the network parameters for the computer, specify the IP address, if the computer is not much, we recommend that the user manually specify the IP address.

If a new router is purchased, or if the router's factory settings are restored, the host network parameter is set to:

ip:192.168.1.x

Mask: 255.255.255.0

Gateway: 192.168.1.1

DNS: Fill in the local DNS address, if not clear, consult your local service provider.

(IP address can also be set to automatically obtain, DNS recommends that you manually specify)

When the network parameters are set, log on to the Router Management page and set up PPPoE dialing:

1. In the browser to enter the router LAN port IP address, in the pop-up box correctly fill in the router's management user name and password to enter the Administration page.

If the router is the default setting, its administrative address is: 192.168.1.1; user name and password are: admin

2. Select "Network parameters" → "wan port settings" in the left box, and then select "PPPoE" in the "WAN connection type" in the right box. "Internet account" and "Internet password" to fill in the Broadband account username and password.

When you enter the password to save the Internet, Password box password length and you enter the actual number of digits may not be, do not worry, this is the router's built-in password protection mechanism, as long as you confirm that the password is correct, the router has saved the settings.

Selection of connection modes:

On-demand connection recommended timing Internet users to choose, when there is access to data, the router will automatically dial the connection, if no data, will automatically disconnect the network within the time set.

"Automatic connection" is recommended for monthly subscribers, and routers will automatically reconnect after they are on or off the line.

"Manual connection" means dialing by manually clicking the connection, and the router will not automatically dial.

When the settings are complete, click Save.

3. dial-up connection or disconnect can be achieved by clicking on the "Run status" bar in the left-hand sidebar of the admin interface and clicking on the Connect/disconnect button in the "Wan status" box on the right.

After dialing the number, you can view the IP and DNS addresses that the router obtains in the WAN status, and if the computer does not have a DNS server address set, you can populate the computer with a WAN status display DNS server address.

4. This PPPoE dial-up has been set to complete and successfully dialed, the computer under the router has been able to access the Internet through the router.

Note: Since the router is used to dial the number, the previous telecom dialing software is not needed. Open IE Explorer, find Internet Options under the Tools menu, and then click Connect. As shown in figure:
