Let's give you a detailed analysis of the graffiti font effects created by Color Splash.
Tutorial sharing:
1. Create a file
Open AI and create a new document. Enter the file name, set the size of the canvas, and select the unit of pixels. The color mode is RGB.
Next, go to edit> Preferences> General> Keyboard increment to 1 pixel. Select unit> standard as pixel.

2. Prepare text and layer styles
Step 1
Use the text tool (T) to write the painting me. The font I use is a regular LeckerliOne (packaged microdisk) with a font size of 117 pt. Select an object> extend to make the text look like the image below.

Step 2
Next, use the direct selection tool (A) to select more than half of the t anchors and drag them to make t vertices as high as I.

Step 3
Then use the direct selection tool (A) to select the right of t to align it with the left of m.

Step 4
Now, use the selection tool to select all the letters and use the link set in the path finder to make all the letters a whole.

3. Add a layer style to the text
Step 1
Select the paint me compound path and set the fill color to black. Next, go to effect> sketch> Base effect (apply the data shown in the following figure ). Reduce the opacity to 40%. I name this layer as a light relief.

Step 2
Copy the shape layer of the light relief, place the new copy layer under the shape of the light relief (Ctrl + B) on the current layer, and delete the layer style of the new layer in the appearance panel.
Change the fill color to the color (231,219,199), then go to the effect> style> shadow and apply this effect four times (set the value as shown in the following figure ). I name this layer a shadow shape.

Step 3
If you zoom in on letters, you will notice that their edges are serticate. To solve this problem, you need to create a clipboard. Copy and paste (Ctrl + F) The shape layer of the relief, and delete the layer style of the new layer in the appearance panel. Now, select the new layer and the light relief shape layer, go to the object> cut the mask> Create (Ctrl + 7 ).
Editor's note: If you cannot cut. Here we provide a method, and then perform step 3. First, pass the new layer through the object> path> offset path (numerical value as shown in the following figure ). Then, two paths are obtained. Remove object> ungroup (Shift + Ctrl + G), delete the outermost path, and then go to object> Group (Ctrl + G ).
You can name the cut group as a relief. Currently, there are only two layers on the layer panel: the relief group and the shadow shape.

Step 4
Copy and paste (Ctrl + F) The shadow shape and place it on the top. Move Objects> arrange> to the top (shift + ctrl +]). Delete all the styles of the new layer, fill them in white, and set the blending mode to soft. Therefore, your text is white, and we hope it will stand out with colorful colors. I name this layer White.

4. Add colorful spots
Step 1
Create a new layer and use the pencil tool (N) to draw a path along the text (as shown below. As close as possible to the shape of the text, because you want to fill the color in the font, rather than the background around them. If necessary, you can use the direct selection tool (A) to slightly adjust the path.
Stroke this path with an ink brush, you can find the ink splash brush in the window> Paint Library> artistic effect _ ink, and select the paint as shown in the following figure. On the appearance panel, change the fill color of this path to blue (165,220,243 ). Keep the stroke 1 pt, open the appearance panel of the path, double-click the brush window, and modify the size and spacing.
For those who have found splash brushes, this tutorial has been packaged: "PS Tutorial: Teach you how to create amazing distributed special effects beauty"

Step 2
Add a new stroke, change the color to red (, 45, 43), and double-click the brush window to modify the size and spacing.

Step 3
Add a new stroke and change the color to orange (241,190, 41). This time, use the window> paint base> artistic effect _ ink to find the ink stain brush and double-click the paint window, modify the size and spacing.

Step 4
Add a new stroke, change the color to the sky blue (72,163,176), change the brush to the ink splash brush, and then double-click the brush window to modify the size and spacing.

Step 5
Add a new stroke and change the color to dark green (126,167, 76). Then, double-click the paint window to modify the stroke size and spacing.

Step 6
Add a new stroke and change the color to brown (, 52, 31). Then, double-click the paint window to change the stroke size and spacing.

Step 7
Add the last stroke, change the color to purple (173,), continue to use the ink paint brush, then double-click the brush window, modify the size and spacing, the Purple splash shape must be very small.

Step 8
Now it is time to cut the mask. Before that, copy the splash path for later use. Now copy the white shape (Ctrl + c> Ctrl + F) to place it on the top of all layers. Delete its current layer style.
Select a new layer and path layer, and go to object> cut mask> Create (Ctrl + 7 ).

Step 9
We will add more splash to the text on the background layer. Because now the text looks a little strange. Select the splash path you copied before, and copy a new layer, which is placed below the text layer. To object> extended appearance, the paint stroke can be changed to fill.
(Editor Note: If you cannot execute this line, you can directly jump to the next section.) at this time, your layer panel should be a large group containing seven groups, each of which is a separate group. In each group, you can find the path (stroke is none, fill is none ). Open each group, scroll to the bottom, and delete them. The other six groups are also deleted.
After deletion, select a large group, cancel the group (Ctrl + Shift + G), and cancel the group for 2 or 3 times until you can find the independent layer or group of the splash layer.

Step 10
Because the splash is too dense, we need to delete some of the splash around the text ,. In the next image, you can see the example I have cleared. You can follow my example or create your own unique design.
The most important thing is to keep a large splash on the edge of the text (as shown by the arrow), otherwise the overall looks weird. You can also freely delete the splash part in the text.

5. Add highlights and shadows to the text
Step 1
First, create a new layer in the text. Select the pen tool (p) or pencil tool (N) to draw a path on the left of the letters P, a, n, t, m, and e, as shown in Figure 1.
Give these six paths with another tutorial (English original address: http://design.tutsplus.com, you can also use a fine brush painting) of the black pen paint a bit. Set the stroke to 2Pt (Figure 2 ). Set their blending mode to overlay, with an opacity of 75% (figure 3 ).

Step 2
Next, create a new layer on the text, and draw the path of the letter (1) as shown in the following figure ). Use the paint brush in step 1 (only the color is changed to white) to brush these paths. Set the stroke to 1-PT (Figure 2) as needed, and set their blending mode to overlay (figure 3 ).

Step 3
Here is a comparison chart before and after adding highlights, shadows. The text looks flat when not added, but the text after highlight/shadow is added looks shiny and richer.

6. Add text splash
Step 1
First, lock the text, highlight, and shadow layers. Then copy and paste the color spots around all the letters in front (Ctrl + F) (Figure 1 ). Keep them selected, change their fill to a gradient from white to black (Figure 2), set the blending mode to fade, and opacity to 50% (figure 3 ).

Step 2
Copy and paste the color spots around all the letters in front (Ctrl + F) (Figure 1 ). Keep them selected, and combine them into a shape using the Union on the path finder. Delete all layer styles of the new composite path and change the fill color to white.

Step 3
Select the white compound path from the previous step, and choose effect> style> projection. Apply the effect twice. Then, reduce the opacity to 0%, otherwise we will not be able to see the splash color. We only need to use shadow. Set the shape blending mode to deepen the color.

These are the shadow effect values. Note: The first one uses black and the other uses white.

Step 4
In the last step, we add some shiny splash. Use the pen tool (P) or pencil tool (N) to draw small paths on a large splash (Figure 1 ).
For these paths use another tutorial (http://design.tutsplus.com, you can also use a fine brush painting) of the white mixed art paint brush stroke, size of 100*3 pixels. Set the stroke size to 1-2 PT based on the splash size, and reduce the opacity between 40-75% based on the luster you need (Figure 2 ).

Come on, give yourself a round of applause.
