In Linux, you can double-click to start some green software without installing it. However, after some programs are opened, right-click the Launcher and choose Lock to Launcher to use some default icons, under normal circumstances, if your aesthetics conforms to the general trend, it should not be considered very beautiful, or even some software will not happen after clicking even if it is locked in the Launcher, for example, Sublime Text (it may be my personal situation, but the solution is the same)
Then, how do programs that can be locked in Launcher and can be started by clicking?
Enter the following commands on your terminal:
Cd/usr/share/applications/
Ll
You will see many files ending with. desktop (such as). These are the configuration files for programs that can be clicked in Launcher and have beautiful icons, which are called Desktop entries.
Next, we will create a Sublime Text Desktop Entry.
Enter the following command on the terminal (switch to the/usr/share/applications directory first ):
sudo
gedit sublime-text.desktop
Enter the text editor and enter the information shown in:
The Icon is the path of the Icon, the Name you want to display in the Launcher, and the Comment is the description. Maybe I want to ask why this "% F" is. In fact, this is what it means to display this program in the "start in other ways" list!
Note: all the paths here must be used to determine the path.
After saving, double-click Sublime Text and lock it to Launcher. close Sublime Text and click the icon in Launcher to start the program!
Thanks
