How to hide hard disk partitions and folders

Important information is stored in a partition of the hard disk. To prevent other users from looking at it, you can hide one or several partitions at will. The specific method is as follows:

Method 1: Group Policy Editor

Step 1: Run gpedit. msc to go to the Policy Group Editor.

Step 2: In the left-side list of the Group Policy Editor, choose "Local Computer Policy"> "user configuration"> "management template"> "windows Components"> "windows Resource Manager ".

Step 3: Double-click "hide these specified drives on my computer" in the right window.

Step 4: Select "enabled" in the settings tab ".

Step 5: Select "restrict drive c (or d. e. f) only from the drop-down list and click" OK.

When someone else opens "my computer", they will not be able to see the hidden partition on your computer.

However, if you enter "c (or d. e. f)" in the address bar, the hidden icon will appear again.

To completely block access to the hard disk, further settings are required:

Step 1: Perform the first and second steps above.

Step 2: In "windows Resource Manager", find "prevent access to the drive from my computer", double-click to open the settings window and select "enabled ".

Step 3: Select "restrict drive c (or d. e. f)" from the drop-down menu.

After setting, enter "c (or d. e. f)" in the address bar, and an error will be prompted to completely hide the hard disk.

Ii. configuration method

1. There is a disk management function in Windows 2000/XP. We can choose Control Panel> performance and maintenance> Management Tools> Computer Management ", in the list on the left of the "Computer Management" window, select "disk management" under "Storage". In the window on the right, all disk partitions and usage on the local machine are listed.

2. Right-click the name of the drive to be hidden, select "Change drive name and path" from the shortcut menu, and click "delete" in the pop-up window, in the displayed dialog box, select "yes.

3. Go to "my computer" and you will find that the disk has disappeared.

4. If you want to restore the hidden drive, right-click the hidden drive here (although the drive is invisible elsewhere, but you can also see it in "Computer Management", but it should be a gray block where the drive letter is), select "Change drive name and path ", then, in the "change" dialog box that appears, click the "add" button and select the disk Number of the drive from the "Assign the following drive letter" drop-down list.

5. Although the above method achieves the purpose of hiding the drive, we also need to perform Step 4 every time we want to access the drive, therefore, you can map a directory to the drive using the following method.

After the drive is deleted, right-click the drive that has been deleted, select "Change drive name and path", and click "add ", in the "add drive letter and path" window, click "mount the following blank NTFS folder", click "Browse", select a blank folder, and click "OK ".

Note that the selected folder must be a blank folder created on the NTFS file system, and it is best not to place the selected folder in an obvious position. In the future, you can open the folder to access the hidden drive. For those who are not clear about it, they cannot access the drive.

3. modify registry

Hide the drive letter, open registry editor, and open the following key values (if not, create a new drive)
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ software \ windows \ currentVersion \ elasticsearch \ Explorer \ NoDrives

Set the value to (hexadecimal) as follows:

Do not hide any disk 00000000

Hide disk A 01000000

Hide disk B 02000000

Hide C drive 04000000

Hide drive D 08000000

Hide edisk 10000000

Hide fdisk 20000000

Hide G disk 40000000

Hide H disk 80000000

Hide disk I 00010000

Hide J disk 00020000

Hide K disk 00040000

Hide L disk 00080000
.......
And so on

Hide the Z drive 00000002

Hide all drive FFFFFFFF

4. Use software such as master optimization or Super Rabbit magic settings

  Clever Use of the Registry

Step 1: Modify the Registry to hide the logical Hard Disk

1. Hide the disk drive icon in my computer

The procedure is as follows:

① "START" → "run", enter regedit to open the Registry Editor.

② Go To The HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SoftWare \ microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ Explorer branch.

③ Create A new binary value in the right window named "NoDrives". The one-to-one key value of the disk drive is as follows: Drive A is "01000000 ", drive B is "02000000", drive C is "04000000", drive D is "08000000", drive E is "10000000", and drive F is "20000000 ". That is to say, the A-Z increments from a two-fold increase in hexadecimal order of the disk drive. Assign the key value corresponding to the drive to be hidden to "NoDrives" in hexadecimal notation, the drive to be hidden is hidden in my computer.

After this operation, enter the "MS-DOS mode" can still be operated. So we also need to hide the disk drive under MS-DOS mode.

2. Hide disk drives in MS-DOS Mode

The procedure is as follows:

① "START" → "run", enter regedit to open the Registry Editor.

② Enter the HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SoftWare \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies Branch.

③ Create a new primary key "WinOldApp" in the branch, create a new key value named "Disabled" for the DWORD value under the primary key, and set its key value to "1 ".

In this way, no matter in "My Computer", or "MS-DOS" mode can not see, how, Cool enough! ^_^ However, anyone who understands the registry cannot cheat him.

 Use PartitionMagic to hide

Tip 2: Use PartitionMagic to hide hard drive

I believe you will not be familiar with this software. It does not break the bad hard disk data, but it is really good for the hard disk drive separation function. But do you want to use it to hide the hard drive? Try it!

① Run PQMagic.

② Select a partition.

③ Select "HidPartition" under "Advanced" in the "Operations" menu, and click "OK" in the displayed dialog box.

④ Click the Apply button in the two buttons in the main window and restart

Everyone has private files or folders that do not want to be seen by others. Sometimes they do not want to install software that hides folders. Today, X-Beta will show you some simple hidden folder methods, such as hiding files with the "recycle bin", never displaying hidden files, Hiding personal drives, and system directory warnings, add system attributes, add "hidden" attributes, etc ......

1. Use the recycle bin to hide files

The "recycle bin" is used to save deleted files. However, if we hide our personal files in the "recycle bin", no one will pay attention to them. First, select "show all files" on the "View" tab in "Folder Options" and enter the root directory of the system partition, right-click the "Recycled" folder and select the "properties" command. In the "properties" dialog box, select the "enable thumbnail viewing mode" check box and click the "application" button. In this way, the system automatically selects the "read-only" check box of the "recycle bin" and removes the check box before the "read-only" check box, the "recycle bin" icon will become a normal folder shape. Double-click the "Recycled" folder, drag the personal data to be hidden into the folder window, right-click the "Recycled" folder, select the "properties" command, and select the "read-only" check box, the "recycle bin" icon is restored to its original state. After that, if someone double-click "recycle bin", he will not be able to see any files in it. Even if other users delete files and execute the "Clear recycle bin" operation, the files hidden here will not be deleted. By cleverly switching the properties of the "Recycled" folder, we can use it to hide our own secret files.

2. Change the personal folder to "recycle bin"

We can also use the "Steal Bar" method to change the personal folder icon to the "recycle bin" icon. First, remove the read-only attribute in the Properties window of the "Recycled" folder to change it to a normal folder icon, enter the "Recycled" folder, and set "desktop. ini "hides the file and copies it to the folder to be hidden, for example," d: \ zhj ". Right-click the" zhj "folder and select the" properties "command, in the displayed dialog box, select the "read-only" and "hide" check boxes, and then select the "enable thumbnail viewing mode" check box. Now we will find that the "zhj" folder has changed to the "recycle bin" icon, but when others open this folder, what they see is the content in the original "Recycled" folder, instead of files in the "zhj" folder. Of course, do not forget to select "do not show hidden files" on the "View" tab of "Folder Options.

3. Do not show hidden files

In Windows 98, you can select the "hide" check box in the "properties" dialog box of a personal file, in the "View" tab of "Folder Options", select the "do not show hidden files" option to hide the secret, however, people with a little computer knowledge can only select the show all files single-choice button to display them all. Therefore, if you use the above method to hide personal files, you must restrict the "show all files" command. In the Registry Editor, find the branch "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ explorer \ Advanced \ Folder \ Hidden \ SHOWALL, in the right window, find the binary subkey "Checked value" and change its key value to "0 ". In this way, even if "show all files" is selected on the "View" tab, the system still does not display hidden personal files. When another person re-enters the "View" tab, he will find that the system automatically selects "do not show hidden files!

What's more, with the Registry Editor, we can hide all three radio buttons under the "Hidden Files" item on the "View" tab. We only need to set the "Text" string key in the "NOHIDDEN", "NOHIDORSYS", and "SHOWALL" branches under "Hidden" (note: in Windows XP, keys with different key values are cleared. In this way, exit the Registry Editor and go to the "View" tab. You will find that the "hidden files and folders" are empty. Anyone who wants to view our personal files is two words-no way, because there is no way to choose this place!

4. Hide a personal drive

Since the computer used by the author in the unit is public, so the author uses PartitionMagic in the hard disk to draw a 50 m new drive (symbol G, store all my personal files here and hide the partition. In this way, other people will not know that there is a 50 m drive in this computer. The method is: Enter the Explorer sub-key in method 3 above, create a "NoDrivers" binary value under it, and change its value to "40000000.

V. System Directory warning

Operation: Open the Windows Folder and find the two files: Folder. htt and Desktop. ini (if not, set the Folder option to display all files in the "View" menu .), Copy it to the folder to be hidden and set the folder attribute to read-only. Use NotePad to Open Folder. htt in the Folder and delete the word "show File.

"Display file" is missing

Comment: When you want to open this folder, there will be a warning like a Windows System directory, and there will be no place to start without the word "show File. However, as long as the read-only attribute is removed, all the files are displayed in front of you.

6. Add system attributes

Operation: add system attributes based on method 3. Enter the DOS environment, enter attrib + s + r (Folder name) after the command line, and then add system properties to the folder. Because the system property is gray (inactive), it cannot be used by ordinary people.

The "system" attribute is not activated.

Comments: This method seems very powerful. Unless a person familiar with DOS enters the black world and removes system attributes, you will not be able to snoop on the secrets in it. In fact, if you use another method, open "My Documents" and "my computer" and switch to the resource manager. What "Warnings" and "system attributes" are there ", all are at a glance.

7. Add "hidden" attributes

Operation: This method is simple. You only need to right-click the folder, click Properties, and select hide in properties. Click [view] → [Folder Options] → [view] on the menu, and select "do not show hidden files" on the "Hidden Files" tab.

Comment: As long as you set to display all files, you can hide it. This method can only be used by cainiao. Of course, it can only be used to conceal cainiao.

General Evaluation: in this case, as long as the hidden folder can be hidden, there will be methods to display (actually restored ). To ensure file security, we 'd better start from multiple parties. First, you can give a name to a file or folder, which is thought to be just an unimportant file. At the same time, you can add a password to the file. Then, you can use multiple hidden methods to hide the folder at the same time. Of course, it is better to apply for a few free mailboxes and store important files in it than the above methods. It can also be used as a mobile briefcase and can be opened anywhere. What do you say?
