How to install VMware Tools for the Cent OS

Note: This article also applies to red Hat Linux, Ubuntu

1, find the VMware Tools installation disk Linux version, in general, for

/vmware/vmware Workstation/linux.iso

2, add the ISO file to the Cent OS of the CD-ROM drive

A. Shut down the system and modify the virtual machine's optical drive to manually point to the ISO image

B. Enter in the terminal

Mount/cdrom

Cd/cdrom

3. Open the optical drive, copy the vmwaretools-xxxx-xxxx.tar.gz files to the appropriate directory, such as copy to the TMP subdirectory under the user directory

4, in the terminal input

Cd/tmp

Tar zxpf vmwaretools-xxxx-xxxx.tar.gz

CD Vmware-tools-dstrib

./vmware-install.pl

5, according to the screen prompts, all the way to enter. Installation to the end will require the adjustment of resolution, select the appropriate resolution, continue to select the default value

6, after the installation is completed, the following words will appear on the screen

Or manually restart the virtual machine later
