How to minimize bandwidth usage in Virtual Desktop optimization

Windows desktop settings for optimizing WAN performance

The adjustment and optimization of the operating system is extremely important. When there are more than tens of thousands of instances, a small reduction in bandwidth usage can have a very significant effect. Even a 10% reduction in CPU, I/O, or network usage can have a significant effect on the entire deployment.

In Windows, there is a large number of display settings that require additional bandwidth to be implemented. The first step in optimizing a WAN network is to consider shutting down these features to significantly reduce the average bandwidth and peak bandwidth required.

These configurations are not required, but you may want to test the effect of shutting down some of the display settings that users do not need. These settings changes apply to RDP and PCoIP, reducing the amount of network bandwidth you use.
