How to modify port 3389 in windows

Step: Open start & rarr; run, enter regedit, and open the registry,

Go to the following path: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Terminal Server/Wds/rdpwd/Tds/tcp],

Have you seen the PortNamber value? The default value is 3389, which can be changed to the desired port, for example, 6689.


Open [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentContro1Set/Control/Tenninal Server/WinStations/RDP/Tcp] and set the PortNumber value (3389 by default)

Change to Port 6689.

After modification, restart the computer and use port 6689 for remote logon. Note that you must add Port 6689 to the firewall before modification. Otherwise, you will not be able to connect to the remote server.

1. Disable Windows background services related to port 3389

On Windows XP/2003:

Choose Start> Settings> Control Panel> Management Tools> services.
In the backend service list, find the following four items:
NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
Remote Desktop Help Session Manager
Terminal Services
Terminal Services Session Directory
Disable the four Windows background services.
Windows 7:
Note: in the control panel, change "view mode" to "big icon" to see the above options.
In the backend service list, find the following three items:
Remote Desktop Configuration
Remote Desktop Services
Remote Desktop Services UserMode
Disable the three Windows background services.


2. Close the frontend program related to port 3389


Click Start> Settings> Control Panel> System
Select the remote tag in the system properties window.
1. Remove the check mark before "enable remote assistance and allow sending invitations from this computer"
2. Remove the check mark before "enable remote desktop on this computer"
Restart your computer to shut down port 3389.
Note: If your system logon password is empty or too simple, and ports 23, 135, and 139 are not closed yet, it is easy to remotely enable port 3389 through these ports again, this operation is meaningless.

Port 3389

Port 3389 is the service port of Windows 2000 (2003) Server Remote Desktop. You can use the remote desktop and other connection tools to connect to the remote Server, after you enter the user name and password of the system administrator, the remote computer can be operated like a local computer. Therefore, the remote server generally changes or closes the port.
