How to mount an NTFS partition

1. Install a kernel-ntfs-2.4.20-8.i686.rpm

2#mount-t ntfs-o iocharset=cp936/dev/hda*/mnt/*** (* represents the number of the partition to mount, * * * represents your own directory, which is the directory where you want to put the partition. )

Solution Two:
 login as Root,
#uname-R

2.4.20-8

#cd/usr/src/linux-2.4.20-8

#make Mrproper

#nedit Makefile (same as VI)
Edit Makefile, the front extraversion = -8custom Remove Custum, $VERSION + $PATCHLEVEL +$ sublevel+ $EXTRAVERSION should be exactly the same as your kernel version.


#cp configs/kernel-2.4.20-8-i686.config. config

#make menuconfig
----Select File Systems, press ENTER
- ---Select the NTFS file system support (read only) press Y, when a * number can be pressed two times ESC return to
----save, exit

#make DEP
System prompts you to run DEP, This process you can go to open the fridge that cola back, drink half a bottle (or smoke a cigarette can also)

#make modules subdirs=fs/ntfs

#mkdir/lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel /fs/ntfs

#cp/USR/SRC/LINUX-2.4.20-8/FS/NTFS/NTFS.O has a space in the middle/lib/modules/2.4.20-8/kernel/fs/ntfs

# Depmod-a

#/sbin/fdisk-l
See which disk is NTFS

#mount-T Ntfs/dev/hda1/mnt/ntfs
