Sometimes, we do not want some software to be automatically updated to the latest version. So, how to prevent yum from automatically updating apache, php, mysql, and so on?

Method:

Vi/etc/yum. conf

Add the following line in [main:

Exclude = bind-chroot apache * pure-ftpd * mod_ssl * spamassassin * httpd * ruby * proftpd * courier * php * mysql * exim * ctohome.com * nsd * dovecot * squirr elmail *

As you can see, all the software in exclude will not be updated to the latest version by yum.

For example, if you run yum install php, you will get the prompt "No package php available!
