How to remotely modify the Linux system VPS server Root user password

When you are new to a Linux system VPS host, the operator will often give you a Linux system remote login Management user name and password. This password is a regular switch by default, so it is very insecure. In this case, we need to modify the Root password. in Windows, we can use a simple command to link putty to Linux.

First, log on as the root user and run "passwd user name", as shown in the following example:

For users who have never been in touch with remote VPS, before that, you have to be sure that you already know how to remotely connect to the Linux system. if your computer is a Windwos system, A good method is to use the putty tool. Then access the VPS as shown in:

As shown in, the login is successful. enter passwd root after # and press enter.

(note: No content is displayed when you enter the password.) then, the next line of Retype new UNIX password appears (re-enter the UNIX password ), enter the new password and press enter.
