The following describes how to install the patch 6.1.0.17 on an AIX 64-bit host.

Prerequisites:

1. websphere6.1 has been installed.

2. Stop the WebSphere 6.1 Service.

Patch steps:

1. download the patch file for ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/websphere/appserv/support/fixpacks/was61/cumulative/cf61017/aixppc64/6.1.0-WS-WAS-AixPPC64-FP0000017.pak

2, download the patching tool, specifically for ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/software/websphere/appserv/support/tools/updateinstaller/6.1.x/aixppc64/download.updii.61017.aix.ppc64.zip

3. copy the file downloaded in step 2 to the small machine and decompress the file by running the jar-xvf download.updii.61017.aix.ppc64.zip command. After decompression, two directories are displayed: updateinstaller and JDK.

4. Go to the directory updateinstaller, run the Java-jar update. Jar command, select the <Java-Home> installation directory, and then select the updated patch file.

5. Start./startserver. Sh server1.
