How to use dual-ADSL lines for Internet cafes

Nowadays, Internet cafes are increasingly using ADSL as the Internet connection line. One reason is that ADSL is relatively cheap, and the other reason is that it is easy to install. However, the bandwidth of ADSL is limited, and whether Internet cafes can provide users with high-speed and stable Internet connections is the key to retaining customers. According to experience, if a k adsl line is used and 10 people frequently access the Internet at the same time, it will obviously feel inferior to a single-host telephone line dialing Internet access (56 K); if it is a 2 m line, only 30-40 people can barely access the Internet at the same time. 8 m can only ensure that 100 people access the Internet at the same time is almost close to the effect of dialing telephone lines.

Many Internet cafe operators are looking for economic and effective resizing methods. Adding an ADSL line is a common method. But after the increase, how can we avoid disrupting the performance of the local network communication of the entire Internet cafe? How can we facilitate management? How can we allocate machines on two ADSL lines? Generally, it is an intuitive idea to select a Broadband Router that supports two ADSL lines. However, to achieve load balancing, it is often expensive, in addition, the CPU processing capability of the Broadband Router may become a bottleneck when there are many machines in the Internet cafe.

I recommend a simple, economical, and practical solution. Use two high-performance broadband routers and VLAN switches to achieve better application performance at a lower price.

Take a 60-PC Internet cafe as an example. Use two 2 m ADSL lines to access the Internet. The selected devices are as follows:

The topology is shown in the following figure (to indicate VLAN Division ):

The device and topology are relatively simple. The key is to divide the 6008NS VLAN correctly. Port 1 and Port 2 of 6008NS are used as interfaces to connect two broadband routers. Port 3 and port 6 are interfaces to connect four 3616NS interfaces. The 7 ports are the interfaces connecting to the server.

Port 1 is classified as VLAN1 only;

Port 2 is classified as VLAN2 only;

Ports 3 and 4 belong to VLAN3 and VLAN1;

Ports 5, 6, and 7 belong to VLAN3 and vlan2.

Both internal IP addresses of 2505NR are set to the same IP address. To facilitate management, you can disable the DHCP function of 2505NR and use the server to provide the DHCP service.

In this way, the PCs in an Internet cafe can smoothly access each other and quickly surf the Internet through their respective ADSL lines.

This solution not only applies to two ADSL lines with 60 PCs, but also to three or four Internet cafes with more PCs. You only need to change 8 smart switches to 16 and 24 smart Switches Based on the scale, such as Netcore 5016 + and 5024 +, next we will mount more 16-port and 24-port economical switches.
