1. Refuse to automatically load blank Windows

When you open a workbook file by using Excel 2016, you can sometimes open a blank window in addition to opening a specified workbook, and it's a bother to close this unwanted window together. The root cause of this problem is that there are compatibility issues with Excel 2016 in the backstage view. Open the Excel Options dialog box, switch to the Save panel (Figure 1), cancel the Do not show backstage when opening or save files check box on the right pane, and then close the dialog box after confirming. Open the Excel workbook again, and you won't be able to open the blank window at the same time. You can open the Excel Options dialog box again and re-enable the "Do not show backstage when you open or save a file" check box.

2. Messages cannot preview Excel attachments

Workplace users typically use Outlook to process messages, but unfortunately Outlook 2016 does not normally preview Excel-formatted attachments and displays information that cannot be previewed when the mouse clicks. But word, PowerPoint, PDF, and other attachments can be previewed correctly. Initially thought to be a problem with the Trust Center Setup, open the Outlook Options dialog box, switch to the Trust Center panel, click the Trust Center Settings button on the right pane, open the Trust Center dialog box, switch to the attachment processing panel, and click the attachment and Document Preview button in the right pane. This challenge can be solved by modifying the registry. It's important to keep this in mind, especially if the {00020827-0000-0000-c000-000000000046} position must be at the bottom.

3. Word cannot set the linkage page number

Previously, we used to set the "page total" effect for Word documents, but in Word 2016 we could not find the option to insert a few pages altogether, and we could take the following approach.

Double-click the footer area, go to the footer editing screen, or switch directly to the Insert tab. In the Header and Footer feature group, select Footer, drag down the slider (Figure 3), select the style of grid or semaphore, and then insert the effect of "1|1" or "1/1" in the footer. Next you just need to manually add the "First", "page", "Total", "page" on it.

Small tip:

Word 2013 also has this problem. The new and old versions can also use the following common methods: Enter the footer editing interface, manually enter "page" and "Total page", position the cursor between "first" and "page", switch to the Insert tab, select WordArt → field in the text feature group, open the Fields dialog box (Figure 4), and select the number category. Select the page field in the list box, and the page number format can be determined as needed. Position the cursor between "first" and "page", select the "Document Information" category, insert the "numpages" field, and quickly get the desired effect.

4. Inefficient extraction of information

We used to extract the pure Chinese characters in the table less efficiently. As in the figure "Half fork", "Big Bottom", "heel", "hook" and so on (Figure 5), because the character length is different, regardless of the column or use formula, the effect is not very ideal. If you still use the old method in Excel 2016, productivity is still hard to improve.

In fact, there are more efficient methods of entry in Excel 2016. First in the C column of C2, C3, respectively, manually input half fork, large bottom, note must be pure manual entry, then when the C4 cell input "heel" after the word, after the "heel" and b4:b16 all content has appeared in the prompt screen, click Enter, all data will be automatically entered. If you don't see the prompts, open the Excel Options dialog box, switch to the Advanced panel, and check the Auto quick Fill checkbox in the right pane.
