How to Use ramdisk to speed up Internet access

Although broadband is now widely used, many people still feel slow (especially machines with relatively low speed) when opening webpages ). This issue is not necessarily due to slow network speeds, but also to the speed at which webpages write to hard disks. Because when we use a browser to open a webpage, the webpage on the Web server is actually downloaded to our own machine. The advantage of this is that if the same webpage is opened next time, then the system will automatically read this webpage from the hard disk on the local machine, instead of downloading it from the server. This method was an immediate solution in the age when Kitten dial-up was used to access the Internet. Even in a very common age, it was very effective. However, for me (and possibly many other TZ people), I always try my best to squeeze out every drop of blood and sweat from the computer. So today I will provide a small software that can greatly improve the speed at which the browser opens the web page.

We all know that Ram is much faster than hard disks. If the browser downloads the web page to the memory when surfing the internet, it must be much faster than downloading it to the hard disk. This software uses this feature to create an area in the memory and simulate a hard disk partition (or a removable disk, such as a USB flash disk) on the computer ). Then, set the temporary folder in the browser to the virtual RAM disk. When you open a webpage, the download speed will naturally be much faster.

The implementation method is simple. You only need to perform the following steps:

1. Download the ramdisk software and unzip it to a folder. Click to download ramdisk
2. Double-click the icon to run ramdisk.Program

3. Click the install ramdisk button on the right of the program. A dialog box is displayed, asking if you want to install a driver. Select "yes.

4. On the left side of the program interface, set the size, drive letter, and type of the virtual disk. After setting, click the Apply button below.

5. Go to Control Panel> Internet Options> General> View history> Settings and click "Move folder, and set the original temporary file folder to any directory of the virtual disk.

6. The system will require a restart. Next you will find that the web page is much faster than before.

 

PS: In addition, the virtual disk has many other functions. In fact, Virtual Disk software has appeared as early as the DOS era, and its usage is also varied. We can also set windows or WinRAR temporary folders on a virtual disk. Of course, the size of the Virtual Disk depends on your memory size. My host has a GB memory and a m virtual disk. Note that, because the information of the virtual disk is stored in Ram, the information in the Virtual Disk disappears if the computer is restarted or powered off, therefore, do not save the documents to be used in the future in the virtual disk. The virtual disk is only used to put some temporary files (and does not need to be cleared and automatically disappears ).
