How to use the quotacheck command in Linux

Run the quotacheck command to scan the partitions mounted to the system, generate the quota. user and quota. group files under the root directory of the file system of each partition, and set disk space restrictions for users and groups.

Syntax

Quotacheck [-adgRuv] [file system...]

Parameters:

• -A scans the/etc/fstab file with partitions added with the quota settings.
• -D. The command execution process is displayed in detail to facilitate troubleshooting or understanding program execution.
• -G calculates the number of directories and files occupied by each group ID when scanning disk space.
• -R: exclude the partition where the root directory is located.
• -U calculates the number of directories and files occupied by each user ID when scanning disk space.
• -V shows the command execution process.
