Word2013 use fields for data calculation Step 1: Select the data you want to calculate in the Word document, click the Bookmark button on the Insert tab, open the Bookmarks dialog box, and create a bookmark, as shown in Figure 1. Use the same method to insert a bookmark named "B" before the second "cm".

Word2013 using fields for data calculation Step 2: Click the place insertion point cursor where you want to insert the field, on the Insert tab, in the Text group, click the Document Part button, and in the Open Drop-down list, select the field option, as shown in Figure 2.

Word2013 using fields for data calculation Step 3: Open the Fields dialog box and click the Formula button, as shown in Figure 3. Place the insertion point cursor after the = in the formula text box in the Formula dialog box, and then select the function you want to use in the Paste Function Drop-down list, as shown in Figure 4.

Attention
When you right-click a field in a document, you can update the field by selecting the Update Field command on the shortcut menu, but the operation may result in a loss of field format. To avoid this, you can select the Keep Source formatting on update check box in the Field dialog box, or you can add the/*mergeformat switch to the field code.
Word2013 using fields for data calculation Step 4: When the function is pasted into the Formula text box, enter the expression you want in the function, and then select the bookmark in the Paste bookmark Drop-down list and paste it into the formula text box, as shown in Figure 5. Then use the same method to add the remaining arguments to the SUM function, and enter the completed formula as shown in Figure 6.
