(Note: If you have not saved a document recently, the entire document may be lost. If you save the document, only the changes made since the last save will be lost.

Some lost documents may not be restored. Use the following methods in sequence based on your situation .)

I. Search for the original document

The name of the file to be searched.

If the file does not exist in the result pane, continue to use the following steps to search for all Word documents.

Type *. Doc and click search ". If the file does not exist in the result pane, view the recycle bin.

If you find the document you want to search for, right-click the document and click "Restore ".

2. Search for word backup files

If you select the "retain backup" setting (on the "Tools" menu, click "options" to view the "save" tab), a backup of the file may exist. To locate the file, follow these steps:

A. Find the folder where you saved the lost file last time and search for the file with the extension. wbk.

If you find any file whose name is "backup belongs to + lost file name:

Start word, click "file"-"open", in the "file type" box, click "all files *. *", select a file, and click "open ".

B. If the. wbk file does not exist in the original folder, search for all. wbk files on the computer:
