Immediate_sync attribute of transactional replication
By default, immediate_sync is disabled on the Hong Kong server. This attribute can be specified when the publication is created or modified after the publication is created. If immediate_sync is true, the snapshot file and replicated transaction will be retained until data retention is deleted. This will lead to a growth in the distribution database, leading to a reduction in Hong Kong Space and replication performance. Therefore, we recommend that you set this parameter to false. note that if a database has multiple publication, as long as the immediate_sync of one publication is true, the retention period of all the replicated transactions of the database will be extended to data retention.
You can run the following statement in the distribution database to check:
Inner = 1 and publication_type = 0
The statement lists the publication of immediate_sync to true and the database and server information. The following is an execution result.
Then you need to release the database and execute the following statement to disable immediate_sync.
=
Sometimes some metadata information cannot be modified correctly, so that even if immediate_sync is set to false, the replicated transaction will still be retained. Therefore, you need to perform additional checks in the distribution database:
0
If the query still returns the result and the server space, it indicates that metadata is faulty. Manual deletion is required (execute the following statement under the guidance of Microsoft support service)
