Introduction

This article provides you with a complete description of how to download, install, and configure Java for AIX. Read through this article and follow the instructions provided in the article, which will save you a lot of time and can save you a lot of trouble when you contact the Support Center for help. IBM AIX Java Downloads

In Aix downloads and service information, there is a table containing all of the Java products supported on AIX.

To download the products listed in the table, go to the first line Where to get SDK base image and JRE and then select the link for the Java product you want to download. You will be prompted to register to obtain an IBM account and password. If you already have a user ID and password, enter them to continue. Upon completion of registration or login, you will be asked to complete the questionnaire and accept the permission. When you are done, the download and service pages that are specific to the Java version that you selected are displayed. If you do not have a generic IBM user ID, register now and return to log in for download.

Where to get SDK fixes (ptfs) Contains all maintenance version information and download links; Click this row to view available patches and download them.
Latest fixes list contains all defect information; each defect is accompanied by a brief description.
Latest Readme/sdkguide Contains release notes.
Minimum supported AIX version ... This information applies only to the latest Java version
End of service Provides information about when a particular version will stop using, note this information, and implement a good plan to move applications to supported Java products.

If you experience any problems accessing or viewing this page, contact your network administrator or system administrator to discuss firewall or proxy settings. Typically, firewall and proxy settings are the primary cause of the inability to access or use this page. If the DeveloperWorks (IBM Download and Server pages) site is unavailable, you can contact IBM support to request them to transfer the site to you via FTP if the situation is urgent.

Java 1.1.8, 1.2.2, and 1.4.1 will no longer be supported, but for the convenience of users, you can still download these stopped Java Sdk:aix from the following locations to stop using downloads.

You will get an SDK or update file in the. tar or. tar.gz format. Before you install these files, you must first extract them. To extract a file, you can use one of the following commands:tar -xvpf xxx.tar
gunzip -c < xxx.tar.gz | tar -xvpf -

IBM AIX Java New Installation

If you want to use the INSTALLP image to install the SDK, first check your system to see if the same product is installed on your computer:lslpp -l | grep Java

For example, if you see the output of the above command as a JAVA14.SDK file set, you already have 32-bit Java142 installed.
