According to foreign media reports, the latest statistics released by Internet traffic monitoring agency Net Applications show that although the market time is later than Microsoft's IE9, the Mozilla Foundation's Firefox 4 market share still exceeded IE9.

Microsoft released IE9 in March 14 this year, and the Mozilla Foundation launched Firefox 4 in March 22. Although Firefox 4 was released later, IE9 had a March share of the global browser market by the end of 1.0%, while Firefox 4 had a 1.7% share. In terms of strategy, Firefox 4 has obvious advantages over IE9. Firefox 4 of the Mozilla Foundation is compatible with Windows XP, but IE9 is only compatible with Vista SP2 or Windows 7. Considering that computers using Windows XP operating system to access the Internet account for 54.4% of the total number of computers on the Internet, while Windows 7 and Vista account for 24.2% and 10.6% respectively, if Microsoft makes Windows XP compatible with IE9, even if the market share of Windows 7 continues to increase, the market share of IE9 will be greatly increased.

Internet Explorer is still the leader in the global browser market, but its market share continues to decline. Internet Explorer's market share in March is 55.92%, lower than February in 56.77%. Firefox's browser shares have increased slightly, from 21.74% to 21.80%. Google Chrome's share has been significantly increased, with a market share rising from 10.93% to 11.57%. Apple Safari ranks fourth, and its market share has increased from 6.4% to 6.6%. Opera ranks fifth, and its market share remains unchanged at 2.2%.

However, this situation has changed significantly in the U.S. market alone. Internet Explorer's market share rose by 0.19 age points to 72.44%, while Chrome and Firefox's share declined by 0.10% and 0.08% respectively.

The Mozilla Foundation previously said that on the day Firefox 4 was released, the total number of downloads for the browser reached 7 million, more than doubled from IE9's 2.3 million downloads on the first day. However, this does not bring too much changes to the overall browser market ranking.
