Port Overview

Port 1-16 is the downlink port of an inline blade

Port 17-18 is a switch interconnect and is disable by default

Port 19 is for the blade on-board administrator.

Port 20-24 is the uplink port.

Connect to the console port of the switch

To access the switch locally:

1. Connect The switch DB-9 serial connector, using the Null-modem serial cable to a local client device (such as a laptop Computer) with VT100 terminal emulation software.

2. Open a VT100 terminal emulation session with these settings:9600 baud rate, eight data bits, no parity, one stop bit, and no flow control.

Initial Configuration Overview

1. Login default password: User level password: user/user, admin password: admin/admin

2. Modify the default password Cfg→sys→access→user→admpw→apply→save

>> system# ACCESS/USER/ADMPW
changing ADMINISTRATOR password; Validation Required:

Enter Current Admin Password:

Enter New Administrator Password:

Re-enter new Administrator Password:

New Administrator Password accepted.

Remember that every time you change the configuration, you must use apply to be effective, in order to ensure that the restart will continue to take effect, must save!

Network configuration, 21 ports top to core 1,22 port allied to Core 2, so to add this port associated to all VLANs, and on the upper port to enable tag, all downlink do not need tag

Configure 21 and 22 ports for tagged

Configuration Command Cfg→port 22→ena→cur→tag e→apply→save→cur

Configure 21 and 22 ports to network management VLAN 11

(same configuration repeats until 21, 22 are added to all the VLANs that need to be added)

Configuration Command Cfg→l2→vlan 11→ena→add 21→add 22→apply→save→cur

Configuration Management IP Address

Configuration Command Cfg→l3→if 1→addr→mask→ena→apply→save→cur

Configure the Switch GW

Configuration Command CFG→L3→GW 1→addr→ena→apply→save→cur
