Because CVS starts to charge fees, it is not easy to find on the network, especially compatible with win7. In win7 environments, cvsnt versions should be at least 2.5 or above.
After downloading the installation file, you can start the installation. to verify whether the installation is successful, open the C command window and enter CVS-V, as shown below: C: \ Users \ gleaves> CVS-V
If you can see the version information, it indicates that the installation is successful, and the rest is about how to configure it. configuration is not easy to do. The key is that CVS is a bit strange, it was hard to find a computer that could be installed in win7. After the installation was successful, the control panel was turned on. It was completely gray and out of configuration. What happened? Later I found that my computer user was not administrator, this is troublesome. After logging on to the administrator user, you can configure it.
Create a repository: Name Is/cvsroot. By default, the Windows Administrator is the repository administrator. You can use a Windows Account to log on to CVS. Then, you want to add more users for repository. There is a simple way to add Windows users, because Windows users are also CVS accounts. However, you want to use the user management method of cvsnt, so:
CMD: Enter dos.
Set cvsroot =: pserver: administrator@127.0.0.1:/cvsroot
CVS Login
Tip:
Logging in to: pserver: Administrator @ 127.0.0.1: 2401:/cvsroot
CVS password :_
After the password is entered, the logon is successful.
Then, add user test1
CVS passwd-r administrator-A test1
Tip:
Adding User test1@127.0.0.1
New Password :_
Create a new password for the test1 user, and generate a passwd file in the cvsroot folder. The file contains the login information of the Repository user, including the registered username test1 and the encrypted password.
The user is successfully added. Next, use test1 to log on. So,
Set cvsroot =: pserver: test1@127.0.0.1:/cvsroot
CVS Login
Now the rest is configured in eclipse. This is relatively simple, as long as the CVS server is no problem
