Install Fedora 19 to replace Windows Office

In February 19, July 2, 2013, Fedora 19 was released. It is said that Mac and Windows systems can be replaced !!!

The following are the problems and solutions that Wei encountered during use:

1. Install

1), download the Fedora-Live-Desktop-x86_64-19-1.iso, this ISO image 951 M

2) download Liveusb-creatorhttps: // fedorahosted.org/releases/l/ I /liveusb-creator/liveusb-creator-3.11.8-setup.exe

3) Create and install a USB flash drive

 

2. Modify the YUM Source

Because I am close to Netease, I used their YUM Source

3. Install chrome. The default value is firefox.

1), there is no chrome in the YUM source, so you need to add another source

2), yum-y install google-chrome Installation

3) Open google-chrome

 

4. Set email

1) The system has its own email address Evolution, which used thunderbird before. Later, it was found that Evolution is more suitable for enterprise users,

Similar to Outlook

2) create a contact, which is more convenient to input when sending an email.

3) create a filter rule so that emails from different people can be sent to different folders for ease of searching

4), because the system uses UTF-8 encoding, so you need to hook the use of Outlook/Gmail encoding (GBK) encoding file name, otherwise the name of the sent attachment cannot be displayed normally in Windows

 

5. Add a printer

Set ---- printer ---- Add a printer. For example, the HP3055 system has a printer driver by default, but some do not

Only text-only format is supported. In this case, documents in pdf and word formats cannot be printed.

 

6. Install skype and add the skype software source by yourself.

Then install yum-y install skype and enable skype.
