Install FreeBSD 6.1-release on Hard Disk
Required auxiliary software: isoemu (used to guide ISO images)
Procedure:
1: Prerequisites: you have installed a Windows operating system and can access the Internet.
2: Download the secondary software isoemu, and freebsd6.1's 6.1-RELEASE-i386-bootonly contains only the boot file 6.1-RELEASE-i386-disc1 mounting Disk 1 6.1-RELEASE-i386-disc2 mounting Disk 2, which three installation files can be downloaded here ftp: // ftp.freebsdchina.org/pub/freebsd/releases/ I #/iso-images/6.1/
3: copy the 6.1-release folder in the disc1 image to the primary partition (it is estimated that the logical partition is not supported yet. It is best to place it in the startup partition and the NTFS format is supported ), extract the disc1 packages to 6.1-release, and copy the packages folder in the disc2 image file to the 6.1-release folder. If the file name is the same, press overwrite.
4: Modify the index file of 6.1-release \ packages just copied, find and replace the target "| 1" with "|" Search "| 2" with "|", and then save
5: Decompress the downloaded isoemu to the root partition (which does not need to be placed in a folder. the partition of the INI file (which contains a description file, detailing the usage and usage of each file), and then edit isoemu. locate "isogrub. ISO "is changed to your boot image file name. I will use FreeBSD here. ISO ", save and exit
6: copy the 6.1-RELEASE-i386-bootonly boot image file to the partition where isoemu is placed, and change it to "FreeBSD. ISO"
7. Modify the boot. ini file and add a line C: \ ieldr = "load isoemu final SV"
8: The preparation is complete. Now you can restart the machine and choose to start load isoemu final Sv. Then, the isoemu starts to automatically load the FreeBSD. ISO file to read the startup information, followed by the familiar boot kernel interface.
