1. Install CDROM in Unixware 7.1.1)

Repeat this step until all the attached drivers are loaded. Select Proceed with installation, and press F10 to continue.
8. DCU settings, select Do not enter the DCU (auto-configure drivers), and F10.
9. System Node Name. After Name:, enter the host Name of the current server with a letter in the header and a length of 3-63 characters). F10 continues.

13. For disk configuration, select Use default disk options and F10.
14. Select Choose System Profile, select Full (All Packages), and F10.
15. Select Network Adapter. If the NIC used by the server is listed on the screen, Select Use network adapter list above. Otherwise, Select from the full list of supported adapters, select from the NIC list, And F10 continues.
16. TCP/IP configuration, enter the Server IP address, and the rest can be blank. F10 continues
17. Configure IPX and press F8 to skip
18. Configure NIS and press F8 to skip
19. Enter the current date and time, press F2 on Timezone to select Asia/Australasia, go to the next page with PgDn, and select China and F10 to continue.
20. For security-level configuration, select Traditional and F10 to continue
21. For System owner configuration, enter "root" in "System Owner name", "root" in "System Owner login name", "System Owner password", "System Owner password", and "F10" to continue.
22. Confirm the root password, enter and confirm the root password, and press F10 to continue.
23. For the License protocol prompt, Select Accept and F10 to continue
24. The system then prompts you to install the software. In this case, you can press F3 to save all previous configurations to a floppy disk. When you reinstall the software later, you can press F3 to read the configuration before step 3, to save installation answer selection time
25. After CD-1 is installed, the system prompts you to remove the CDROM and floppy disk and restart the system.
26. After the startup is complete, select the response mouse type and prompt to continue to install CD-2. During the installation process, the system will prompt you to insert the HBA floppy disk used in Step 7. There are some additional applications on CD-3. After CD-2 is installed, you can skip the installation of CD-3.
Ii. Unixware 7.1.1 install floppy disk boot installation)
1. Boot the system from Unixware 7.1.1 Boot Disk 1
2. installation language. Select Proceed with installation in English and press enter to continue.
3. After Disk 1 Boot is complete, follow the system prompts to insert Unixware 7.1.1 Boot Disk 2 and continue the installation.
4. Choose a zone for this system and press , Select Americas (Latin-1), F10 continue
5. Choose a Locale for this system and press , Select C (English), F10 to continue
6. On the Keyboard, select United States and F10 to continue.
7. Enter the License Number, License Code, License Data, and F10 to continue.
8. You are prompted to insert the HBA disk. You must insert the default HBA floppy disk that comes with Unixware, select Install HBA diskette, and press F10 to mount the disk. Otherwise, the subsequent operation will fail.
9. Subsequent Installation Steps start from step 7 of CDROM Installation
Iii. Prepare for Sybase Installation
1. Use SCO Admin → Hardware → Video Manager to adjust the screen resolution to 1024x768.
2. Adjust the screen font to 3 through the control panel font settings
3. Use SCO Admin → Account Manager to join a sybase User Group
4. Use SCO Admin → Account Manager to add a sybase user. The default home directory is/home/sybase, And the login group is sybase.

8. Set sybase user logon options:
Edit and modify/home/sybase/. env and add two lines:
SYBASE/sybase
DSQUERY sybserver where sybserver represents the name of the SYBASE server and needs to be modified according to the actual situation. Generally, the name of the SYBASE server is the same as that of the server host)
Edit and modify/home/sybase/. dtprofile to remove the # sign before the last line:

9. Set the root user logon option:

A. in SCO admin → Networking → FTP Server Manager, select View/Denied users, click the root row in the list, and select Edit/Delete to Delete the row.
B. Edit and modify/etc/shells and remove the # sign before/sbin/sh.
Log on to the server using FTP on the background PC as sybase), and upload all the files and directories on the SYBASE installation disk to the/sybsetup directory.

1. If you have uploaded the SYBASE installation disk through FTP, skip to step 4.

5. Install
% Cd/sybsetup
% Sybsetup
6. Check whether the input line in SYBASE Directory is/sybase. If not, check whether the environment variable SYBASE =/sybase is set correctly.
7. Select Unload SYBASE Products from CD-ROM or tape
8. Check whether the SYBASE installation directory is/sybase. Continue
9. Select Device Media as CDROM and enter the SYBASE installation file as follows:
/Sybsetup/sybimage
Installation Source Machine: Select Local to continue
10. Select the installation product 11.9.2 Adaptive Server Enterprise. Continue.
11. After installation, return to the main sybsetup window.
12. Select Build New Servers.
13. Select the Adaptive Server and Backup Server. Note that the default name is the host name. Do not change the name normally.
14. Enter the installation options of the Adaptive Server as follows, and then continue
Master Device Path:/sybdata/master. dat
Sybsystemprocs Device Path:/sybdata/systemprocs. dat
Port number: 5000
15. Enter the Backup Server Installation option as follows, and then press Build Server to continue
Port number: 5001
16. After installation, return to the main sybsetup window.
17. Select Localize Adaptive Server, select the Adaptive Server name, and press OK to continue
18. Enter the sa password. The default value is null .)
19. Select the installation language as Us English, the character set as Code Page 850, And the sorting method as Binary Sort Order for Code Page 850 (cp850)
20. Edit and modify/sybase/SYBSERVER. cfg, where SYBSERVER is the SYBASE server name)
Total memory = xxxxx (set SYBASE memory in 2 kb, usually set to 50% ~ of the physical memory ~ 60%)
Enable cis = 1
Max cis remote connections = 0

21. Stop and restart the sybase Server
22. Log On With isql Verification
23. Use showserver to display the Backup Server name ...... /Sybase/bin/backupserver-Sxxxxx_back, where xxxxx_back is the name of the Backup Server
24. Start isql and run the following command:
Sp_configure 'Allow updates to system tables ', 1

25. If there is a tape drive, first check whether the/dev/rmt directory exists. If there is no such directory, install the SCSI driver.
26. Start isql and run the following command to configure the drive and verify

(X indicates the capacity of a single disk, in MB, which is slightly smaller than the actual capacity)
