Install meego in a Up-Atom510 in Windows

1 Preparation

First, the installation environment of this experiment is: Install meego car system (meego V1.1 for In-Vehicle infotainment (IVI) for the up-atom510 Development Board under Windows 7 )). The release released by meego is divided into two types: SDK and operating system. The meego operating system is installed here. There are four meego systems:

 

Handset is a hand-held device and is prepared for Nokia and other mobile phones. It targets moorestown chips, such as LG's gw990 mobile phones, and netbooks is a system prepared for netbooks, the fourth type of system is to integrate the Chrome browser on the basis of the second type. Essentially, there is no difference. All these are for N series Processors, generally with 810 or 915 bridge chips; vehicle is the on-board system provided for Flat Panel, such as the up-atom510 development board used here, for Z series processor.

After understanding the above concepts, start preparing to install the necessary software.

First, download the software for creating the USB flash drive byte image file: win32diskimager.exe; two

Then, download the meego image. Do not use the ISO file. Use the IMG image file ;:

Finally, make sure that the used USB flash drive has at least MB capacity. The Internet says at least 2 GB, and there is no lower limit here. If it exceeds 1 GB, it will be OK.

2. Install 2.1 to create a USB flash drive Image

Create a USB flash drive image file;

Decompress win32diskimager.rarand double-click win32diskimager.exe. The following interface is displayed:

Click the red folder icon in the figure and select the downloaded meego image file;

Insert a USB flash drive and click the refresh button under the device to find the inserted USB flash drive:

Select the drive letter of the USB flash drive and clickWrite, The following page is displayed:

Click Yes;

When the progress bar reaches 100%, the file is saved and the progress bar disappears completely. You can delete the USB drive from the computer and unplug the USB flash drive;

2.2 modify screen resolution

Modify the screen display resolution of the BIOS settings;

Plug in the U disk that just made the image file, connect the power cord of the up-atom510, connect the USB keyboard, turn on the power;

Note: The Ubuntu system that comes with the up-atom510 will be erased after installing meego.

After power on, press the Del key to enter the BIOS settings page for the up-atom510:

Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to go To the chipset menu:

Press enter to enter the North Bridge Configuration:

Go to boot display Configuration:

Enter to the flat panel type and set the display resolution1024*600 (Samsung);

Finally, save the settings and release them.

2.3 install meego

Install meego:

After you exit BIOS settings, slam F11;

Go to the system boot option; select to start from the USB flash drive, that is, just inserted into the USB flash drive;

The welcome page for installing the meego system will be displayed. There are three lines:

Boot meego

Installation only

Boot from local driver

Select the second item for installation (or select the first item to experience the meego system first) and press Enter;

The following error occurs:

[0.485781] [DRM: i915_init] * Error * DRM/i915 can't work without intel_agp module!

(Why is this error not found)

You don't need to worry about it and have it run on your own. After a few minutes, the installation method selection interface will appear. There are two installation methods available:

Text mode

Gui

Select the first text mode. Run the command line installation method. Press enter;

At this point, the system will prompt: Installing the meego system will erase the original system. Please select whether to install (that is, to erase the original system), select Yes,EnterYesAnd press Enter..

Then, the system will automatically install the tool. After the installation is completed, the system prompts you to press the next key. After the system restarts, the USB flash drive can be pulled out (after the system is restarted );

After the system is restarted, The meego system will start. How many (5? 8 ?) In minutes, the meego system on the sky blue page appears.

Note: the password of the root user is not required in the middle, and the password of the meego user is not required (both root and meego are built-in users ),RootThe user's password isMeegoThe password of the meego user can be modified with the root permission after the system is started.
