On April 9, November 13, 2014, US time, the PHP development team published the latest version of PHP 5.6.3 on "PHP 5.6.3 is available | PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor 」.

In the latest version 5.6.3, multiple bugs are modified, and security vulnerabilities in the fileinfo module are modified.

The PHP team recommends PHP5.6 series users to upgrade to the latest version 5.6.3.

This section briefly introduces how to install PHP5.6 on CentOS.

Configure yum source

Append the epel and remi source of CentOS 6. x.

rpm -Uvh http://ftp.iij.ad.jp/pub/linux/fedora/epel/6/x86_64/epel-release-6-8.noarch.rpmrpm -Uvh http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-6.rpm

The following is the source of CentOS 7.0.

yum install epel-releaserpm -ivh http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-7.rpm

Run the yum list command to view the Packege ).

yum list --enablerepo=remi --enablerepo=remi-php56 | grep php

Install PHP5.6

After the yum source is configured, install PHP5.6 in the next step.

yum install --enablerepo=remi --enablerepo=remi-php56 php php-opcache php-devel php-mbstring php-mcrypt php-mysqlnd php-phpunit-PHPUnit php-pecl-xdebug php-pecl-xhprof

Run the PHP command to view the version.

The installed version is PHP5.6.0. you may find that ZendGuardLoader is changed to Zend OPcahe.

PHP code cache changes from APC to Zend OPcache from php5.5.
