Install the Nux Dextop repository on CentOS or RHEL

Introduction

Nux Dextop is a third-party RPM repository (such as Ardour and Shutter) similar to CentOS, RHEL, and ScientificLinux ). Currently, Nux Dextop is available for CentOS/RHEL 6 | 7.

Install

The Nux Dextop library depends on the EPEL library. Install the EPEL Library first (administrator privilege required ).
Skip this step if you have installed it.
$ Su root
$ Yum-y install epel-release

For RHEL6/CentOS 6 (copy/paste ):
$ Rpm-Uvh http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/dextop/el6/x86_64/nux-dextop-release-0-2.el6.nux.noarch.rpm

For RHEL/CentOS 7 (copy/paste ):
$ Rpm-Uvh http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/dextop/el7/x86_64/nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch.rpm

Official installation instructions

Check whether Nux Dextop is successfully installed:
$ Yum repolist

If the repository list contains Nux Dextop, the installation is successful.

Prompt

Because the Nux Dextop repository may conflict with other third-party libraries, such as Repoforge and ATrpms ).
Therefore, we recommend that you disable Nux Dextop repository by default.

Open/etc/yum. repos. d/nux-dextop.repo and change "enabled = 1" to "enabled = 0 ".
$ Sudo vi/etc/yum. repos. d/nux-dextop.repo

Enable the repository explicitly when you need to use the Nux Dextop repository.
$ Sudo yum -- enablerepo = nux-dextop install <package-name>
