Operation Steps:

1, before the installation to give Ubuntu a certain size of disk space. I use 170G to install Ubuntu. My hard drive is relatively large, if the hard disk is small, you can choose 50G and other sizes to Ubuntu. For detailed partitioning operations, see Disk Allocation operations under Windows.

2, the production of Ubuntu system U disk Startup disk. Here will format the data inside the USB flash drive, if there is important data, you must first do a backup.

3. For Windows settings, you need to reset the startup settings for Windows.

4. Set the system to boot from the USB flash drive in the BIOS. If it is no matter how quickly you press F12 (different computer keys to enter the BIOS) can not enter the BIOS, this time should consider the Windows "Enable fast Boot (recommended)" option to turn off.

6. Allocate partitions for Ubuntu. General configuration, the "/" partition should be allocated 15~20g space, "/swap" allocation is twice times RAM memory, "/boot" allocated 200M, "/home" is the user's primary partition, can be configured 20G or more.

My own settings were "/" -25g, "/swap" -16g, "/boot" -1g, "home"-128. One thing to say here is that I last installed Ubuntu assigned "/boot" is 200M, after using a period of time, the system prompts me "boot space is insufficient", I went to the internet to find a clean boot tutorial, the results mistakenly deleted the kernel data, so that Ubuntu can no longer use, Then the second Ubuntu system installation, this time I deliberately to "/boot" amplified some.

Here the "/" is set to "primary partition" and the following three can be set to "logical Partition". The settings here can be restored as long as the confirmation is "now installed".
