Next we will introduce the installation process of VirtualBox and Ubuntu Linux. VirtualBox is an open-source Virtual Machine Software owned by SUN (which should be Oracle now). It is lightweight and powerful. I personally think VirtualBox is much better than WMware of the paid version. You can download virtualboxthrough http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/downloads. When I wrote this article, VirtualBox was updated to version 3.1.6. I am using version 3.1.4, and the entire installation process should be slightly different. Ubuntu is a Linux operating system based on desktop applications. It has a huge community power. Users can easily get help from the Ubuntu community, which is very suitable for beginners to learn and use the Linux operating system. You can download the Ubuntu Server version at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download-server. I use version 8.04.

Install VirtualBox:

1. Start the VirtualBox installer and click "Next" on the welcome page ";

2. on the software license page, select "I agree" and click "Next ";

3. Select the installation path. The default installation path is used. Click "Next ";

4. Create a desktop shortcut and create a shortcut in the Quick Start bar. Click "Next ";

5. The system prompts you to install the network interface. After the network interface is installed, VirtualBox can be connected to the Internet or local network. Select "Yes ";

6. Prepare for installation and click "Install ";
