Installing Redis under Linux

1. Download Redis

http://download.redis.io/releases/

Version redis-2.8.0.tar.gz

2. Unzip

TAR-ZXVF redis-2.8.0.tar.gz

3. Make command

4. Make Test

The following error occurred

You need TCL 8.5 or newer in order to run the Redis test

Workaround

When you execute make test, you're OK.

5. Turn on Redis service

CD src

src]#./redis-server

Turn on Redis in the background

./redis-server &

This exits the console and does not exit the Redis Server service

6. Turn on the Redis client

Under another console, turn on the Redis client

Set key on client
