DT is the Eclipse plug-in used for Android development. The key to ADT's normal use on Eclipse is that their versions must be compatible. Therefore, it is recommended to install the ADT plug-in online. It will automatically find the appropriate version based on the Eclipse version.
1. Install the ADT plug-in online
Start Eclipse. For Eclipse3.5 or Eclipse3.6, select "Help"> "Install New Software... ", if the menu of Eclipse3.4 and below is" Help ">" Software Updates... "Prepare to install the plug-in. The Eclipse version dialog box is different. The Eclipse version Dialog Box 2-1 is displayed in Eclipse3.5 or Eclipse3.6.

Click "Add" in Figure 2-1 to bring up the dialog box shown in Figure 2-3. Click "Add Site" in Figure 2-2 to bring up the same dialog box.

In "Location", enter the Android ADT plug-in online: plugin.
2. Install the ADT plug-in locally
If you cannot install the ADT plug-in online for various reasons, you can first download the ADT plug-in to your computer and then install it. ADT0.9.9 is the plugin.

You can also click the "Local" button in Figure 2-4 to find the unzipped ADT-0.9.9 folder. In this way, you can install it locally. One disadvantage of local installation is the compatibility between the ADT plug-in version and Eclipse version.
Go back to the installation dialog box and you will see "Developer Tools", as shown in 2-5.
