Installing Tornado 2.2

Tornado is an integrated development environment provided by WindRiver for development VxWorks, so if you develop VxWorks programs in Windows you need to install Tornado software first. Tornado 2.2 There is a compatibility issue in the Win7, where I still use the XP system for installation.

Preparation materials

Installing Tornado 2.2 requires the use of the company-provided WindRiver Tornado 2.2 to crack the installation package. The installation package contains CD1, CD2 two folders, and a vxworks_end.exe executable file. The Tornado2.2 installation file is in the CD1 folder, the BSP installation package is in CD2, and the Vxworks_end.exe file is used later.

BSP is the abbreviation for Board support packages, which is board-level. It is a layer between the motherboard hardware and the operating system, which should be said to be part of the operating system. The main purpose is to support the operating system to provide upper-level drivers with access to the Hardware Device register function package, so that it can better run on the hardware board.

Installation steps

Tornado 2.2 is installed as a Windows other application and runs Setup to start the installation. This first installs the Tornado 2.2 program in CD1 and then installs the BSP driver in the CD2.

When installing Tornado 2.2 with CD1, there are two steps to note, as shown in 1.1 and 1.2.

When installing Tornado 2.2, the project name and number of tornadoseat are optional if you install the steps shown in 1.1. Note, however, that the number of Tornado seat column can only be filled in numbers.

When installing to 1.2 steps, select the Phone or fax radio button. All others use the default settings. When installing the BSP driver in CD2, it is as simple as the installation steps in CD1. Simply use the serial number in the CD2 folder and the next one will complete the installation.

Software hack

Follow the above steps to complete the installation after the software must be cracked to normal use. The required crack file is contained in the crack folder in CD1, named License.dat. The following steps are cracked:

(1) To copy the License.dat file to the C:\Tornado2.2\flexlm folder, you need to first create the FLEXLM folder in the Tornado 2.2 folder.

(2) The new variable is named Lm_license_file, and the variable value is C:\Tornado2.2\flexlm\license.dat environment variable, as shown in 1.3.
