The types of compilations that are used by the compilation process, cross compilation of the generated SDK, and image files depend on the development environment, the application hardware, and the source version. So you have to understand your environment in order to properly configure.

To restore the compilation environment:

Make Defconfig

Go to the Compile menu:

Make Menuconfig
