Internet Explorer has encountered many problems recently. The main problems are virus flooding and hacker attacks. In fact, we need to constantly update patches, but this is not a long-term plan. Recently, it was reported that unrepaired vulnerabilities in IE 6 and IE 7 are being exploited by more and more attackers.
This vulnerability was reported in IE two weeks ago, but the initial attacks against this vulnerability were limited and targeted. However, attacks against this vulnerability have become more and more widespread and arbitrary. Security researchers from the antivirus company AVG said that today, tens of thousands of attacks against vulnerabilities in IE6/7 every day, and this number is still growing.
At the same time, Trend Micro, which is also an anti-virus agency, also pointed out that the external attacks against IE6/7 vulnerabilities have indeed increased slightly.
According to the analysis, there are two types of attacks against IE browser: Install fake anti-virus software and Trojan Horse.
So far, Microsoft has not released patches for vulnerabilities in IE6/7, and only provides automated solutions. Microsoft's next patch date is in April 13, but if the attack continues to grow, Microsoft is under pressure to release the patch in advance.
However, Microsoft pointed out that the most direct solution for IE6/7 users is to upgrade to IE8.
