Internet helps global climate change

One of the main themes of Obama's visit to China is the issue of cooperation on climate change, and one of the topics of this IGF conference is the Internet and climate change.

"Greening the Internet" and "Internet for global climate change" are some of the issues that ipbaobao more than a year ago.

"Green Internet" is not what we call "network pornography", but how to reduce the CO2 emission problem of the Internet itself. The climate organization and global e-Sustainable Development Initiative (GeSI), June 2008, also pointed out that "the use of smart XX technology can reduce global emissions by 15% and global energy savings of $800 billion." McKinsey, the company, also showed that while CO2 emissions from the ICT industry by 2020 would be almost one-fold from the current 2%, the unique monitoring capabilities of ICT could cut carbon dioxide emissions by 5 times times the global scale by about 7.8 trillion (gtco2e) tonnes, CO2 emissions are bigger than the current US and China.

Using Internet technology to reduce CO2 emissions from all sectors of the world, monitoring global climate change is a priority in the future and a major business opportunity for our industry.
