6. Advantages

Now, we finally have a tool, to accelerate the development of our protocol.

Ethereal is a free multi-protocol analysis tool that supports file formats. it can parse various protocols, such as PPP, IP, TCP, UDP, WTP, WSP, and MMS, to easily locate data errors, therefore, we can quickly correct program errors and speed up protocol development.

In an embedded system, most of the Protocols communicate through the serial port. Based on PPP, IP, TCP, and UDP, COMgrasp.exe can listen on the data sent and received by the PC serial port, parse the PPP/IP/TCP/UDP data protocol to convert the original data. in this way, you can use Ethereal to view the parsed data.

In addition, the author can also provide the C source code for capturing data. Users can embed it into their own systems. In this way, they can also generate a. cap file and view it using Ethereal.
