Word 2003 has a "book fold" feature that allows you to print two pages of content on a single sheet of paper, which you can then sew into a folded booklet, making it easier to carry and read. Set the steps as follows:
1. Open the Page Setup dialog box, switch to the Paper tab, and select a paper type, such as "A4".
2. Switch to the Margins tab and select Book fold in the multiple pages list. If the paper orientation of the Word document is not set to landscape, Word automatically sets it to landscape.
3. Switch to the Margins tab, type or select the spacing between top, bottom, inside, and outside.
4. In the list of pages per book, select the number of pages you want a single booklet to contain, the number of pages you can choose to be 4, and the maximum 40. If the pages in the document exceed the number of pages selected, Word automatically divides the document into booklets to print. Of course, users can also choose "All" to print the entire document into a brochure.
5. Click the OK button to exit the Page Setup dialog box.
Attention:
1. The page will be displayed in the preview, while printing is the actual binding order of the page. The print effect can be previewed with a virtual printer from Office 2003.
2. The number of pages that are best controlled is the number of pages equal to or near 4, otherwise there will be too many blank pages. For example: A document with a total of 21 pages, then more than 3 blank pages, printed in the order below (in the direction of the page from left to right):
First sheet of paper front: blank, 1; Back: 2, blank
Second piece of paper Front: blank, 3; back: 4,21
Third piece of paper front: 20, 5; Back: 6,19
Paper four front: 18, 7; Back: 8,17
Fifth piece of paper front: 16, 9; Back: 10,15
Sixth sheet back: 14, 11; Back: 12,13
If you are not using a duplex printer, do file → print, and in the Print dialog box, select the Manual duplex check box. Word prints on one side of the paper, prompts you to put the paper back in the tray, and then prints it on the other side.
3. By "Insert" → "page number", you can add page numbers for each hinge, but also can be added headers and footers.
Note:
In the official description, if you click Current page, Word prints the specified page plus another three pages that belong to the same sheet of paper, but has been validated many times by the author, except for the first piece of paper, the blank pages are typed. You can specify a page number in the range of page numbers, but it is strange to print out the same unspecified page. I do not know the method is not correct, or a bug in Word 2003, please tell the master.
In addition, after you select contiguous text, you can normally select the selection item to print, but you cannot print the noncontiguous selection.
