Java-fixed the text garbled during html page submission to servlet

The jsp page has a text box:

<Input type = "text" name = "companyName" value = '<% = request. getAttribute ("companyName") %>'/>

When the text box contains Chinese or Japanese characters, the content in the text box obtained by servlet is garbled:

Request. getParameter ("companyName ");

Solution:

String str = request. getParameter ("companyName ");
When the text box is Chinese:

New String (str. getBytes ("ISO-8859-1"), "GB2312 ");

When the text box is Japanese:

New String (str. getBytes ("ISO8859-1"), "UTF-8 ");

Note:
Chinese Character Set: GB2312

Japanese character set is: UTF-8
